Doctor's Orders
Diagnosed with kidney failure following quadruple heart bypass surgery, Shirley Mitchell knows the importance of following doctor's orders. "I take my medicine, watch my fluid intake and follow a fairly strict diet, plus I get support from the nurses at the dialysis clinic. They're always encouraging me, asking how I'm doing. One of them even sings to me. It's like visiting family. When I leave the clinic, I'm ready to watch my daughter race in a soapbox derby or go to a flea market with my husband.
